My name is Uncle Paul, but to my friends I'm just Pauly. I am sadly one of the longest kennel residents here at PAHS who, to no fault of my own, always gets passed up. I have had my feelings hurt being told that my looks don't stand out or that I am too slow and boring. When I arrived at the shelter last summer I was horribly emaciated and infected with mange. In a tremendous amount of pain and too weak to walk, I had a very long road to recovery. The awesome staff here helped me with my medicated baths, structured feeding plan, and most importantly gave me extra love. Slowly but surely I got my groove back. I am a sweet and silly guy who is ready to claim my spot on your couch. This makes me the perfect, low maintenance candidate for adopters who are not incredibly active. I can never seem to get enough attention and will show off my signature grandpa grin in exchange for some chest scratches. In addition to being a cutie, I have been very social and well behaved during all of my meet and greets. The kennel staff was pleasantly surprised at how patient and gentle I was around children. No other dogs or cats though- I am not interested in sharing my special humans with furry friends.
