MEET TWINKIE:

Twinkie is a 4-year-old standard American Eskimo with a charming personality! He weighs 39lbs and is looking for an active family to call his own. Twinkie enjoys going for long walks and taking car rides to explore new places. He has been known to vocalize his excitement at bicyclist, but we just chalk that up to him being the fun police! Twinkie is a playful pup who loves to entertain himself with his toys. He is learning to play fetch and fresbe with his foster. He prefers mature children to be his companions, as he can be a bit shy around small kids. He has done well with other dogs, although he doesn't want to share his favorite toys. Twinkie has expressed no interest in cats. While he loves to cuddle, he is not a fan of being picked up, but there are not many situations that would require a dog of his size to be picked up - he is quite nimble and will jump into cars or onto furniture (if invited) all by himself. Regular grooming is a must for a fluffy dog like Twinkie, but he doesn't mind it at all. At home when with his people, he is calm and loving. However, Twinkie can get vocal when he gets anxious, so living in an apartment or condo is not an ideal fit for him. During vet visits, Twinkie can be nervous, so he needs his new family to be patient with him and help him feel comfortable. He is also house trained and crate trained. OUR FOSTER ANIMALS ARE LIVING IN FOSTER HOMES AND TREATED LIKE FAMILY UNTIL THEY FIND THEIR OWN FUREVER FAMILIES. OUR ADOPTION PROECESS REQUIRES AN APPLICATION TO BE COMPLETED AND APPROVED BEFORE A MEET-N-GREET WITH THE ANIMAL CAN TAKE PLACE. ADOPTION FEES ARE NECESSARY TO HELP US COVER VETTING COSTS FOR OUR RESCUED ANIMALS. OUR PRIMARY ADOPTION AREA IS WITHIN THE STATE OF MICHIGAN.
