Twiggy and two 3 weeks old puppies were turned in to a rural high-kill shelter in SC. They weren't Twiggy's puppies. These were her sister's babies, but her sister had disappeared. Her previous owner thought that Twiggy's sister had been killed by a coyote. Even though she didn't have any milk and couldn't feed them, Twiggy decided that these puppies were her responsibility. She cuddled, cleaned, and kept them warm. Twiggy is a such sweet, friendly girl HT just had to bring her to the metro DC area so she can find a home of her own.

She's Ms. Personality Plus! Twiggy is a very happy dog who has lots of energy and is so much fun. She likes being the center of attention! Men in particular seem to love her and she loves them right back.

This sweetie pie gets along great with her foster's little dog. Twiggy would probably do very well in a home where she had another small dog to play with her. Currently, she is working on her housebreaking and has made excellent progress. She is already crate-trained and is content to stay in her crate while her fosters are at work.

Can you give pretty Twiggy a loving home? She will repay you with happy tail wags, adoring looks, and endless love! Please apply to adopt Twiggy today!

The adoption fee for this dog is $300, which helps with the cost of routine vet care. This fee INCLUDES spay/neuter. Our adult animal fees range and are based on: fees we pay to shelters, vetting costs, transport costs, and boarding costs. Some animals cost more than others to rescue, so that is why our fees range from $275-$350.

You can save animals like this one by becoming a foster! Fosters are like way stations between high kill shelters and forever homes. We need fosters so that we can save dogs before they are euthanized at the shelters. If you are interested in becoming a foster, please check out our information about fostering.
