Meet Tux
Meet Tux! He just turned 1 year old in January-ish and we think he's a Great Dane/Lab Mix - but is the size of a lab.
Tux, had been hit by a car and brought to Animal Control. Hartman's rushed to get him and brought him to the vet immediately. It was recommended that he be euthanized due to his injuries.
Hartman's said not today and brought him to C.A.R.E. to have back surgery. His spine was broken in two places and they didn't think that he'd full regain the use of his back legs.
Fast forward 3 months later and Tux has healed from his back surgery and is walking great! Not only can he walk but, let me tell you, he can run and jump!! His back legs do tend to drag a bit when he's walking, but, he has special boots and is about to undergo water therapy to help strengthen his back end.
He is looking for his forever home. One preferably with lots of toys and a fenced in yard so he can chase tennis balls. He is VERY food motivated and loves to cuddle.
side note, I forgot to mention that he can't lift his leg to pee, so he squats like a girl.
His tail was also broken, but, never set so it's very crooked.
He's been neutered, UTD on shots, HW negative and has been on a monthly preventative.
