Tux Chihuahua & Dachshund Mix Normal, IL

Tux is a 10+ year old Chihuahua/Dachshund mix who tops the scales at 11.8 pounds. He found himself looking for a new home through no fault of his own - sadly, his owner was moving into assisted living and was unable to take him with. The poor guy is befuddled by what has happened to him, but has slowly started warming up to staff and volunteers.

Once Tux trusts you, he is the sweetest boy. He is kissy and most loving to those he has bestowed approval on. Because he is fearful of strangers, he may need a few visits before he warms up to a potential adopter. Tux will need an owner that understands he can be possessive of his person and that he is leery of strangers - Tux must be shielded from visitors who may unintentionally make him uncomfortable.

Tux is energetic and fun-loving. He is house trained and reportedly likes other dogs, but is not tolerant of children. He kindly requests a home with no kids under the age of 12 years old.

He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
