This petite cutie is on the smaller side and has a smile you'll fall in love with. At 6 years old and just 32 pounds, Tuna is the perfect medium-sized companion. She’s spayed, fully vetted, heartworm negative, and a great eater. Best of all? Tuna is awesome! After only 2 weeks with her foster, this is what we’ve learned about her. She’s incredibly friendly, gentle, and loves being around people and other dogs alike. Tuna is sweet and playful and she loves playing with a squishy toy. She is very dog friendly, easy to handle and a whole lot of fun. She’s wonderfully quiet and well-behaved. She’s non-destructive, doesn’t pull on the leash, and never bolts—making her an ideal companion for seniors or anyone looking for an easygoing dog. Tuna has a cauliflower ear from several untreated ear infections she had while on her own. She also has smaller ear canals due to this. Her hearing may be slightly affected, we’re not sure, but she can still hear and respond to commands. Her foster is teaching hand signals along with verbal commands. Tuna's learning to be housebroken again after being on her own. She is making progress and loves a routine. She is learning how to let her foster know that she has to go outside to pottie. She seems to have a sensitive stomach and does better when eating just her food and not a bunch of human food and random treats. Tuna came to the county shelter after a police officer found her severely underweight. Thanks to the love and care of a foster, she's now healthy, happy, and ready for her forever home!
