DOG'S DESCRIPTION
How much is that doggie in the window ARF ARF! This active guy is looking for a furever home that is active and enjoys the outsdoors. He has been thru a puppy training course, but a refresher is in order for this young pup. He is good with small dogs, good with calm big dogs, a little nervous with hyper big dogs but it is just appropriate introduction to fix that. He does enjoy jumping on you to give kisses and will likely knock over little kids so best in a home with teenage kids or older. He is a sweetheart and looking for someone interested in spoiling him with play time in a big fenced backyard, jogging and/or long walks, hiking, and lots of love and attention. He is housetrained, crate trained, does fairly well on leash and all he needs now is an active family to love him.
Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.
Adoption fees cover basic vetting, spay/neuter surgery (for dogs over 6 months old), rabies, distemper/parvo vaccinations, treatment for worms, heartworm testing, monthly heartworm prevention and monthly flea/tick prevention (while the animal is in our care), and transport costs from high-kill shelter. Please note that on average, K-9 Lifesavers spend significantly more on each dog than their adoption fee. Adoption fee for HW positive dog also covers heartworm treatment at our partner vets.
