Tucker Shetland Sheepdog / Sheltie Rochester, NY

We are in Rochester, NY, we adopt to people who live in the Rochester area. We do not ship our dogs and require home visits. Must live in area to adopt, will not respond to out of area/country requests. Additionally, if fencing is required it must be a physical fence and in place at time of home visit.

Required: Fenced in yard (physical only) to allow him to run off his energy.

Tucker is a sheltie who was born 6/26/2020. He is an awesome boy who believes in displaying his in-bred trait. He is completely housetrained and is extremely proficient at using the dog door. He is awesome with other dogs and cats. His foster reminds that Tucker is 100% sheltie, with all the normal sheltie behaviors. This means we recommend no young children in the home. If children do visit, Tucker needs to be separated so he doesn't display his herding instincts. He is particular about how he is petted (strokes are welcome!!), but he totally loves LOVE!! With that said, he was surrendered to rescue due to inappropriate nipping. We have worked with him for a number of months to help get him past this but adopter must be willing to continue working with him on his training.

All our dogs have been spayed/neutered; treated for worms; heartworm tested (if age appropriate -7 mths or older); treated for fleas/ticks; microchip; and examined by veterinarian and given age appropriate vaccinations. We take every effort to ensure the health of the animal and you will receive a copy of all vet work performed.
