Meet Tucker

Tucker has found his forever home in Newton, MA with Teri and Gary S.

Tucker is a 1-2 year old cattle dog (Heeler) mix. He weighs 50 pounds.

Tucker, or Tuck as his foster mom calls him, is a happy, sweet, friendly dog, who loves to be with people. He came into rescue as an owner surrender. His family did not have time for him, and left him chained up outside. He has been in a foster home for over 2 months, living the good life! Tucker's favorite things are playtime and spending time with his family. He is smart and eager to please. He likes going for walks and watching TV. Tucker is crate trained and housebroken. He gets along with other dogs, but does not like cats.

Tucker is a herding dog. Overall, herding dogs are smart, happy, energetic and athletic animals that need to be active- mentally and physically. If not given enough attention or exercise, they will find ways to be naughty. Tucker would do best in a home with a fenced yard, children 10 and older, and a family that has time to train and play with him.

Tucker is still in the South- not available to meet in person at this time.

Please complete an online APPLICATION if you wish to adopt. Forever Home Rescue New England is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. We are a network of foster homes in the South and the New England area. THERE IS NO SPECIFIC SHELTER LOCATION. If you wish to meet our dogs, you must first be approved by going through our application and screening process. Forever Home Rescue suggests obedience training for all puppies and dogs. All dogs are up to date on their shots, dewormed and spayed or neutered. Vet fees, transport fee and New England quarantine fees ARE INCLUDED in each dog's adoption fee. Also, any dogs older than pups--even if they are not marked housetrained in their posting---usually housetrain within a day or two, because most are used to living outside in the south and will prefer to do their business outdoors. Our dogs and pups are best suited for families with children 5 yrs old and up. If you are approved to adopt, please submit the $100 deposit by clicking on our rescue's name in this posting (Forever Home Rescue New England--in purple) which will bring you to a new page with the deposit link at the bottom.
