Meet Tucker

TUCKER is a sweet, shy guy but with a confident personality. He likes quiet time with his person and is a sucker for treats. Tucker was introduced to cattle and he will go after them to move them and come back to you when called. He has lived with both altered and unaltered males and females without issue. He is the smallest of the crew but don’t tell him that. In the time Tucker has been in foster care, he has started to come out of his shell. He comes to me for treats and pets. He seems interested in being close to people he knows. He has also started playing a bit of fetch with the other dogs. Tucker puts on a good show and drips confidence but underneath it all, he’s a big softie.
Tucker would do better in a home with no young children. He doesn’t care for the rambunctious nature of children and he will try to heel them as they play.
Tucker is ok with cats when supervised but I would not leave him unattended with cats or other small mammals. He has a very strong drive and needs a home that will allow him to work.
We feel Tucker would blossom in a home where he got more individualized attention. He was evaluated by a trainer/behaviorist and he believes Tucker did not receive much (if any) interaction with people during those critical puppy months. This causes Tucker to be a little standoffish and it takes him much longer than others to warm up to a new person. Tucker has never shown aggression towards people, he will just leave the situation when uncomfortable. He is searching for that perfect family that understands his drive and willing to take the time for him to warm up to them.
Tucker is 2 years old, and weighs 35 lbs. He is neutered, heartworm negative, and up to date on preventative care.
