Known Abuse in the past: she shows signs of MAYBE past abuse; depending on tone of voice. But has improved so much in foster care.
Resource guarding issues: Sometimes buries treats for later. Guards against other dogs with high value treats with a "warning growl" but she has never gotten aggressive

Anxiety (Separation, nervous energy): She is petrified of gun fire, fireworks, loud or sudden pops even bubble wrap shakes, cries, searches for small dark places
Description:
Trudy just wants to be loved, give her walks, car rides (she loves adventures) cuddles, sleepy snuggles she is happy. She is happiest curling up in your lap or anything in bed next to you. She will sleep in a dog bed at the foot of the bed if you don't want her in the bed will just take a few times for training. She is so smart and wants to learn and is happiest pleasing you and being rewarded with cuddle time. She uses her paws like hands to show you what she wants. It's her way of trying to talk.
She is very smart and learns quickly. She has a strong prey drive for birds, squirrels, rabbits. She loves walks or a large space to run. Must have a fenced in yard. Still working on begging and if anything is within reach she will steal food right from your hand if the opportunity is there. She is picky with her treats and dog food. Purebites, True chews are some of what she considers her high value treats. With high value treats we are working on her taking them gently, at this time we place in her bowl or with open hand.
She has been around children as young as 2 and did fine and was gentle. I do not recommend her being around young children especially unsupervised for 2 reasons if the child has any food in their hands she will take it and the 2nd reason is if she gets excited she may unintentionally knock the child down. Any child needs to be old enough to understand and remember those 2 things.
She jumps/twitches sometimes when you go to touch her, signs of possible past abuse; she is also deathly afraid of being sprayed with the water hose. She doesn't care for her feet to be messed with but loves massages everywhere else. She doesn't like her nails trimmed but is not aggressive in any way. She has done great with all vet visits and procedures.
Strongly recommend calming aides for thunderstorms, 4th of July, new years eve, any other occasions with fireworks and she should be left inside for these times. I use quiet moments calming with CBD. She knows how to use a doggie door but prefers to be were you are. She is house broken and does very well however she does know how to use a pee pad in case of emergency. She would be amazing as a therapy dog, ESA and shows potential for search and rescue.
What is the funniest thing your foster dog does?
She will sleep long ways against her human's body and snuggle in.
She will map out on the way on how to get to you as she loves to be with her humans.
When she trusts you her personality will come out and she is funny and oh so sweet
