"Wake up in the morning feeling like P. LEADy (Hey, what up dog?)
Grab my glasses, I'm out the door; I'm gonna hit this city...shelter (Let's go)
Before I leave, brush my teeth with a bag of treats
'Cause when I leave for the night, I'm bringing a dog back."~Kesha, "Tik Tok" but like my version
If I tell myself not to look at PetHarbor, I can focus just on the dogs we have since every dog has their own unique needs. But nah man. You get someone aka the animal placement coordinator who just happens to dm you at your weakest. She put the words Rhodesian and puppy together and I was like let me look at this beast. Ok, fine let me get it together and find a foster. It only took a few days but Truck, has landed with LEAD.
A goofball on stilts. A baby giraffe that took off running once he plopped out of his mum. And at 5 months, I see no ridge on his back (doesn't mean he isn't part), but see some Catahoula Leopard Dog/Redbone Coonhound/Great Dane in this gentle giant's heart. This is Truck and he is lovin' life. I mean look at the strut in front of the camera! He gets bossed around by small dogs. Runs a muck with the big dogs hence his name. And knows never to piss off a kitty, but is curious to say hi. He is great on a leash, crate trained, and working on housebreaking, learning that his bladder can be as large as a giraffe's one day. Being so young, we are looking for adopters to keep up with training and socializing such a bright kid. He is pretty in your face with the snuggles, so if you do have other dogs at home, they will need to tolerate such a party. If you have kids, I think they will thoroughly enjoy getting to run around with their own pony.
Truck will be neutered on September 5 and ready to run around the Serengeti you call home. If interested in adopting your own zoo animal, apply at leadrescue.org.
