Notes below supplied by his current owners:

Trooper

1. Age and weight
4 years old 45lbs

2. Spayed/Neutered or not
Neutered

3. Vaccination status (rabies, DHLPP etc)
Rabies 6/28/18
DHLPP-1st 5/28/19

4. Being wormed/flea/tick treated monthly?
Not currently. He has been treated for flea/tick during the summer months.

5. Any medical issues (when did he/she last have a vet check up?)
He was hit by a car at around 9 week and suffered a broken pelvis/hip on the left side. Cries while pooping/unknown cause. May 28, 2019 last physical vet visit

6. How does he/she behave around men/women/children/strangers/people on the street/other animals
Trooper is mostly friendly towards men/women/children he has snapped at 2 strangers in the past when they went in to pet him without him warming up to them. He is friendly to people on the street but will not approach them on his own. Trooper seems to be friendly with other dogs, but he has had fights with our older Jindo. We do not have personal experience with him and smaller dogs. Since we have had him he hasn’t had too much dog socialization. Should not be placed with cats.

7. Normal daily routine (food/exercise)
Morning he eats 2 cups of Nature’s Recipe Salmon/Pumpkin food we will mix ground turmeric in. We feed him in his crate since he has shown food aggression in the past. He loves to play and roam in our fenced yard. No daily walk. He is a playful dog but also knows how to relax and just rest. He sleeps in crate at night.

8. Indoor or outdoor dog? (or both)
Indoor

9. Level of training (what commands does he/she know/how does he/she walk on leash/reaction to seeing other dogs when on leash)
He can come, sit and down. He has good recall when off leash. He sticks close to us when outside. Has regressed with the leash/harness. He will cry/pull away when the leash is putting on leash. When he is on leash, he sometimes gets nervous and tries to go back to the car/house. Behaves well when seeing other dogs, pulls when he sees squirrels. He is house and crate trained. He respects and thrives with boundaries and routine. He doesn’t go after food that isn’t presented to be his.

10. Any particular likes/dislikes (how is he/she about being handled/petted – any sensitive areas, like ears, feet etc.)
He like his head rubbed and ears scratched. Although he is friendly and sweet natured, he isn’t too affectionate, it took about a year for him to fully let me hold his head. He warmed up to our kids much sooner. He dislikes having his back legs/hips/butt and paws touched. He also doesn’t like to be pet at night. We noticed that he gets irritated if we pet him like an hour before bedtime.

11. How does he/she react to riding in the car/going to the vet/can he/she be lifted
He goes in the car perfectly fine. He has a strong aversion to the vet and has become aggressive. We have used Trazadone, it helps a bit. But not as great as we were hoping. He cannot be lifted.

12. Has he/she ever bitten any other animals/people? If so, what was the severity and was medical action needed?
His only human bite was to our vet tech while she was trying to medicate him before his X-rays. He has drawn blood with the fights with our older Jindo and with one of our cats. No medical action was needed for all incidents.

13. Any separation anxiety issues or other behavioural issues?
Yes, we has a bit of separation anxiety. Sometimes he cries when in kennel/crate if he can visibly see or hear that we are around. We have used a tarp or cover to help with that issue.

14. Where did you obtain the dog from and why are you attempting to rehome the dog now? How long have you owned the dog?
We obtained Trooper from his previous owner through the Jindo Facebook Group. His issues with his crying while pooping (which we were uninformed about before getting him) in our subdivision is causing issues. At this point we cannot find a solution to his crying/pooping issue, so finding a home where noise wouldn’t be an problem would be best. Also we believe that he would do better off in a home as an only pet. We have had him almost two years. He came to be with us March 29, 2019

15. Have you contacted any other rescues for assistance?
No

16. What are the best methods of contact for people interested in either fostering or adopting your dog?
Text or call Breanne: (864) 525-2648

17. Location:
Greenville, SC 29605
