World meet Trixie!!

This gal has a new lease on life now but her start with CLMR was a sad one. ? Trixie was found by a dumpster in a busy gas station parking lot by 2 good Samaritans. She was severely emaciated and afraid of everything. Even worse, she was dumped by her owners. The vet thinks she is around 1.5 yrs old.

The first order of business was getting her healthy—putting some weight on her and getting her through heartworm treatment. She came through it like a CHAMP! She has put on 15lbs and is now heartworm free. Her funny, quirky personality came out immediately. She is full of energy and love!

Trixie is crate trained, house trained, knows some commands, is working on leash training and learning to use a clicker to gain attention in the midst of triggering or stressful situations. Trixie is a smart girl and picks up training quickly.

Trixie will do better in a home with large dogs. She plays well with other dogs, but she still has some resource guarding issues. Her foster is working hard with her and she is making great progress!

Trixie is looking for someone who will have patience with her, helping her continue to learn to be a loved dog again. She has made progress with trusting people and other dogs again. She is a goofy girl who loves to lay on the couch with a chew toy and she is not opposed to throwing a ball to herself and chasing it. This sweet girl just needs a loving family who won’t give up on her.

Trixie is spayed, up to date on all vaccines and current on heartworm/flea/tick treatments. Her adoption fee is $250 and transport fee is $185. She will come with a health certificate from the vet before she transports.
