Trixie Chihuahua & Jack Russell Terrier Mix New York, NY

This cute girl is Trixie, a 1-2 year old mix who, at 18 lbs, looks like a big chihuahua! She is shy and cautious at first, but is very easy to be with once she settles in. She's quiet and smart, housebroken and only sometimes hides socks, shoes or T shirts! She's learning some words and commands, and seems to understand "Come," "No," "OK," "Good girl," and "Hi Trixie!" She can be quite nervous meeting new people and other dogs, especially bigger dogs, so she might do well in a quieter house with no big dog siblings. She'd be great in an apartment as long as she gets walks and exercise. She sleeps for a few hours in her cage during the day if she excises and eats enough, but she's still learning to sleep in her crate at night. She's a sweet girl who is just looking for her person!

Trixie's adoption fee is $425. She is being fostered in New York.

All of our dogs come spayed or neutered, fully up to date on vaccinations, including rabies (if age appropriate) and bordetella, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.
