Meet Trixie

Trixie is a 12-year old female spayed chihuahua mix. She came to Animal Advocacy when her family left her at a local animal hospital to be euthanized. When the clinic couldn’t find anything wrong with her, Animal Advocacy stepped in to save her.

Trixie is a senior dog who has lost her home. There are some wonderful things about her, and some that will need some work before she feels comfortable and can really trust humans again. Trixie is very loving when she wants attention, but she wants that attention in her own time and on her terms. She gets along well with other dogs and cats, and sometimes prefers to hang out in the quiet room with the cats.

Trixie needs work on her potty training. She does perfect on hardwood floors and goes outside. But will have accidents on carpet. When her foster family is away, Trixie happily stays in her kennel.

Trixie is a tri-pod, having lost most of her back right leg when she was a puppy. She gets around really fast and is very active and mobile for a senior dog.

After she is groomed or has her nails trimmed, Trixie can have some GI problems. Her foster home keeps her on a probiotic to help. Getting her to take her supplement is no problem because Trixie is a wonderful eater!

Trixie was discarded by her family and is ready to find a new forever home. For a family who is patient, kind and loving, with gobs of compassion for a sweet little lady, Trixie will be a wonderful companion.

Trixie has been spayed, is current on all vaccines, has tested negative for heartworm and has been microchipped. She recently had a dental cleaning, too.

We are committed to doing our part to control the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Until life goes back to normal, we will not be doing adoption events at PetSmart. Instead, we will be doing individual meetings by appointment and practicing social distancing at each meeting.
