Trixie Retriever Mix Schaumburg, IL

Trixie is a 4-month-old Shepherd mix who came up from Alabama with her three brothers. She may be a puppy but she is very smart and has learned a lot in her short time up north. In fact, Trixie loves to learn!

Trixie came up knowing what a potty pad is for. Now she knows that if she potties outside, she will get a treat and immediately comes running for it! She will go to the door to be let out, but if no one notices, she will go to the pad. She also knows sit, paw, down, go potty, and go to bed. Speaking of bed, Trixie sleeps all night in her crate without making a sound. She doesn’t complain about her crate in the day as long as she has something special in there with her — peanut butter Kongs are the bomb!

Trixie lives with two resident dogs who greatly appreciate that she has never tried to annoy them with puppy bites or wrestling. That doesn’t mean she doesn’t like to play! She and her brother wore each other out until he was adopted recently. But now she’s left with two lazy resident pups. That’s okay! She is happy to get her zoomies out in the yard, and then come in and sit next to them playing with her toys. Oh, and she LOVES toys: squeaky, crinkly, boney, or chewy, she will try them all out! But at bedtime she always sleeps with her favorite pink dinosaur.

If you want a loving, friendly puppy who is advancing quickly in her training, Trixie is the girl for you. She'll be a wonderful addition to any home.
