Meet Treasure

MARR covers Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Wisconsin. Treasure is being fostered in IA currently. However, transportation is available for adoptions within our coverage area.

Treasure is very well-behaved in the house and loves to follow her human around. She doesnt like to be kenneled but can be convinced with treats. She is slowly getting used to her foster brother but generally barks and lunges at other dogs on her walks. She will need to be in a home with people who have Rottweiler experience and can continue training her to focus on them in order to redirect her attention on these occasions. Treasure has shown interest in cats but hasnt been near enough to chase or interact with them. She loves toys, squeaky balls and Kongs but must be supervised with them because she will chew them to pieces.

Treasure doesnt climb on furniture and usually is not interested in dog beds. She is not an overly-cuddly lap dog but she does love belly rubs and scratches. She is assertive and has shown resource guarding with her food and water bowl. Her Foster tells us she drinks a lot of water and has a very sensitive stomach with some episodes of gastric distress. At the moment, she has been on a digestive care food along with pumpkin because of her sensitive stomach.

By herself, Treasure is a very sweet girl. We think she will do best in a home where she is the only dog and can get all the attention and training from her human.
