Meet Travis
The dog you are interested in is a puppy (under a year old). Puppies are placed into their new homes on a foster-to-adopt basis until he/she is old enough to be neutered or spayed. We prefer the puppy to be no younger than 7 months old for females and 9 months for males. Houses with pools must demonstrate that puppies can be restricted from the pool with fencing or a cover. Additional puppy vaccines will be required, and will be coordinated by SPR to occur either in your home by an SPR volunteer, or brought by the adopter to an SPR-approved facility. Puppies often have multiple potential adopters, so SPR evaluates which home is the best match with any given puppy and their expected home needs once they have grown.
Meet Travis – A Gentle Soul Blossoming into a Playful Pup
Travis is just over 7 months old and has come such a long way since arriving at Saving Paws Rescue AZ. Thanks to the love and patience of an incredible foster family, this once-shy boy is beginning to show his true colors—and they’re beautiful.
After a rough start in life, Travis is learning what it means to feel safe. He’s discovering that the world isn’t so scary, especially when he’s surrounded by other dogs he trusts. In fact, Travis lights up around other pups! He absolutely needs a home with at least one confident, friendly dog who can be his role model, playmate, and comfort.
Lately, Travis has been showing more of his puppy side—gently trying to engage in play and wagging his tail with sweet, hopeful energy. It’s heartwarming to watch him come out of his shell, and with the right home, that transformation will only continue.
What Travis Needs
Travis will thrive in a calm, patient home that understands the importance of going slow and letting him build confidence at his own pace. A home with another dog is essential for his emotional growth. He’s not ready for a high-energy household but would do well with adults or older, respectful children who can offer him kindness, routine, and reassurance.
He’s still cautious around people, but every day brings small victories—like choosing to sit a little closer, wagging his tail when he sees a familiar face, or gently asking for attention in his quiet way.
The Perfect Home for Travis
Travis doesn’t need a loud or busy life—he needs love, stability, and someone who believes in him. With a gentle hand and a loving heart, his forever family will get to witness the joy of watching a once-timid pup blossom into the confident, playful companion he was always meant to be.
If you can give Travis an indoor forever home with a canine friend and the time he needs to grow, please fill out our online application at:
