Tracker Chow Chow Mix Clear Lake, IA

This handsome guy is Tracker. He is almost 5 years old. He probably has some chow mixed in with maybe some Boxer and whatever else is in there would have to be determined by a DNA test. The ears are pretty distinctive so that is why we are guessing maybe some Chow. He was originally adopted from us in 2020 but the family was experiencing issues with him and he has come back to the shelter. We have worked with him the past couple of weeks and have not been able to recreate the behavior or being territorial here. His temperament seems pretty level.

He does REQUIRE a firm owner - someone who won't let him be in charge. He probably would be best in a home with no small children and not a lot of activity. Apparently a lot of activity going on creates anxiety for him. The vet did have him on Prozac short term. He has a strong prey drive with small animals so no cats. He has been an only dog but so far no problems with the other dogs here at the shelter.

He does know sit, stay, down and shake. He is housebroken. He is not an excessive barker. He weighs 40 lbs.
