Meet Tot

*** Tot is currently in a trial adoption! ***

Such a handsome dog, meet Tot, a 12 - 14 month old (as of 5/2020) male pit bull/lab mix. He has such a nice looking coat of reddish brown brindle and white markings plus a cute short tail. Tot is pretty much full grown now and weighs 37 pounds. Tot was pulled from our local shelter where he had been picked up as a stray by Animal Control. He had been down there over a month so it was time to get him out. We adopted Tot out and was in the home for about 2 months. The folks had so many good things to say about him but they had gotten used to having an older dog and realized they do not have the time for a young, energetic dog like Tot. Here is what they said:

“Tot is a sweet, smart dog. He knows commands: sit, stay, shake and is learning to come when called. He is very social and affectionate. Tot is great with other dogs and loved the dog park. He does play a little rough with other dogs – likes to wrestle with them. He would LOVE to have a playmate so we think he would do better in a home with another dog. Tot is completely house and crate trained. And he is doing much better on the leash.

Tot is a big puppy and still needs appropriate toys and things to chew on. He has lots of puppy energy and needs a yard to play in and nice long walks or runs to help get that energy out. Tot is very good with children and was learning to sit while greeting children and not to jump on them!”

Tot is a very happy go lucky guy with lots of fun energy. He is still a big puppy and will need training and structure to help him develop into a well-mannered adult dog. He loves to run and play, especially with stuffed toys. He is very curious and smart and will make a great walking/running partner.

Tot is too energetic at this young age for an apartment. He will require a fenced in yard to help get his energy out but he is not to be an outside dog only. He loves attention and being with you too much!

Tot seems to get along well with other dogs and would probably love a play buddy. He is still jumpy so would be better with older children 12 and up so not to knock one down inadvertently.

Tot is up to date on his vet care, neutered, heartworm negative and is microchipped. He is on heartworm and flea/tick prevention.

Such a charmer, Tot will be a great addition to help keep you active yet also keep you company on a rainy day!
