Meet Buddy

Buddy was originally dubbed "Toothless" by his shelter friends when he landed there as a stray. Buddy must have had quite the past before finding us. His teeth have undergone some serious wear and tear, and are almost all worn down to flat surfaces. Oh, if he could just tell us his story!

But don't worry about Buddy. He's able to eat just fine and shows no lasting issues resulting from this unfortunate part of his history.

Buddy is inexperienced and shy with children, so he will do best in a home without them. He should not go to a home with cats or other dogs.

Since coming into foster care with SGSDR, Buddy has decompressed from his experience as a stray and a shelter dog. He's enjoying all the affection and playtime he can get from his foster humans!

Buddy is not interested in spending time with other dogs, but he's happy to ignore them if they'll ignore him. He's also become a champ on the leash and LOVES his long walks and hikes with his foster mom.

Buddy even showed how far he's come since his shelter days on a recent walk when a neighbor's loose dog began racing straight for him and his foster mom. That's always a scary moment for any dog owner.

But he handled himself perfectly. He sat right next to her and kept his cool while she dealt with the whole situation. Buddy also shows off his gentlemanly self during his vet visits, where he's calm and polite to his caretakers.

Buddy's ideal home is a quiet one where he's the only dog to a forever human who will take him for long walks and leafy hikes to enjoy all that his delightful second chance at life has to offer.

If you think Buddy might be the one for you, please apply to adopt!
