Hi there my name is Toodles or Tootie Toot Toot. I'm about a year old and 25 pounds. I'm from a backyard breeder in KY and yes, I also had a litter of puppies. Thankfully those days are over for me. I have become a very happy girl!! I'm not scared any more when mom moves around or when the bigger dogs want to play with me. I figured out I was safe and no one was going to hurt me. Mom and I are very proud of the confidence I have gained. I still don't like loud noises or the coins in the milk carton mom will shake to get our attention or to stop what we are doing. I LOVE to snuggle with mom and I will squeeze my way in between her and the other dogs if they are snuggled up to her first. If mom isn't available to snuggle I like to snuggle with one of the other dogs. Since I'm from a family of Beagles I prefer dogs my size. I'm requesting to have another dog close to my size in my forever home and a secure fenced in yard for us to run and play. I have come to find my voice, I bark at the other dogs if they are ignoring me outside or if they have a toy that I want. Mom tells me my bark could wake a dead person. I sing the welcome home song to her when she comes home. When I first arrived here I cried when mom was out of my sight. If she went in the front yard, the garage and even the shower I cried horribly. I don't do that any more because I know she is coming back. I may have the same issue in my new home until I realize I'm safe and you will be back. Some people may consider my crying and barking as separation anxiety, but mom really feels once I am settled in my new home and get used to the routine and the fact my family always comes back I will become more secure and not be upset. I think most dogs to a new home/family have worrisome issues that they have been abandoned once again. I would not be good to be alone for hours at a time while someone works every day out of the home. Apartment life is out for me. I am not a fan of the crate!! I barked pretty consistently while I'm in it and I drooled a lot. Since I haven't been destructive mom has left me alone with her dogs when she goes out. I have been fine and when she checks in on the camera's, I am quiet. I'm working on a few things, like coming when I'm called and learning to walk on a leash. I watched the other dogs use the dog door and I do too now, so housebreaking has been resolved with the door. If you do not have a dog door we will have to get into our own routine but at least I know where I am supposed to go potty. I sleep with mom and a few other foster siblings. I like to be able to touch someone else when I rest. If you would like to meet me please visit our website, www.crazypawsdogrescue.com for our meet/greet/adoption process and on-line application which is necessary for a meet and greet.
