Tony Pit Bull Terrier Mix Schenectady, NY

This is Tony. He was found abandoned, tied to a tree, until he was brought to an animal shelter. He was adopted out but found loose again, this time with an injury to one of his hind legs that required amputation. This sweet guy does not let it get him down at all and has adjusted very well to life as a tri-pawed dog.

He has done well with other dogs and very well may do well with dog-savvy cats as he tested pretty well with them at the shelter. He also does well with the children in his foster home. Tony is a sweetheart, a completely loving boy who deserves the chance at a real home. His previous life hasn't been the greatest, but a brighter future is waiting for him...one where he will never be abandoned again.

He is a bigger boy, weighing around 65 pounds but his big heart takes up most of that weight. He is surprisingly conscious of his size despite being down a leg.  He is nothing but pure love! Happiness and joy just radiate off of him.

He’s playful, goofy, and absolutely adores being outside—though his favorite part of the day might just be the moment you walk in.

He’s a total lovebug who brings two stuffed toys to bed every night and insists on morning snuggles before he’ll even consider stepping outside. Peanut butter? Yes, please. Random kid’s toy? Maybe—but he’s always happy to give it back with no fuss.

Tony gets along great with other dogs and kids, and all he wants is a forever family to give him the love he’s so ready to give in return.

One leg short, but overflowing with heart.
