Fido's Landing, Inc. NFP's Adoption Policy
You begin my filling out an application on our website. We cross reference any names to make sure that we have not been given not to adopt recommendations. One of our coordinators runs your application and checks with your vet and 2 references that cannot be family. Once approved we notify you with a phone call. —OUT OF STATE APPLICANTS— Thank you so much for your interest! We are located in Homewood Illinois. While we do allow out of state adoptions we do NOT provide transportation for dogs once they are adopted. We do not have the option to place a hold on a dog however, we do allow the option for an out-of-state applicant to complete the adoption for a dog before they are able to come visit. This would require paying the adoption fee and it would ensure that the dog would be adopted to you and no longer be listed as available. If, for some reason, you did change your mind once you meet the dog, we can either apply that adoption fee to a different dog or refund the adoption fee. If you do choose to adopt before coming to the shelter, transport for the dog to go home would need to be scheduled, typically within seven days of adoption. If these policies are something you are in agreement with, please complete an application!
