Toffee Labrador Retriever Mix Omaha, NE

Toffee (ToffeeTastic of the Girl Scout Cookie Litter) is looking for a sweet life full of snuggles, treats, and playtime.

Toffee, his siblings, and his mama came up to Nebraska from an overcrowded shelter in Tennessee, thanks to a rescue down there and a volunteer pilot who was able to transport. Mama Cassie is currently being treated for heartworms through NALA Rescue... she is a sweet pup that looks like a small chocolate lab, and your best guess for dad's breed is good as ours (maybe pitty, but we've never met him).

Toffee loves humans! His absolutely favorite activities are anything he can do with you, especially snuggling, playing with toys, and going on walks. When you walk into a room, Toffee loves to know what you're up to. He does great with everyone, and would likely fit in perfectly in a home with children, other dogs, and even cats.

Toffee will nap for hours with you on the couch (he snore softly when he's in deep sleep, which is absolutely adorable). He keeps himself busy with toys - he loves carrying around stuffies, gnawing on chews, and bringing you squeaky toys. Treats are a huge hit with this pup! This little guy is relatively laid back and attentive to his people. He doesn't ask for much, but when those puppy dog eyes come out, you can't say no!

Toffee loves to make other doggy friends. He especially adores dogs his size and actively engages in play if they will return the excitement. He reads other dogs really know, and knows how to respect boundaries. Toffee visits the Omaha Dog Bar to stay tuned on his social skills, and gets along very well with the adult big dog in his foster home.

Toffee is observant and a quick learner, motivated by food and praise. He has already mastered "sit" so much so that he will sit as soon as you grab a treat. He has made leaps and bounds with potty training, crate training (he sleeps in the crate at night and when no one is home), leash walking, and general manners.

Toffee is a puppy, so adopters should be prepared to be patient as he transitions to a new home and new routine. He will excel in a home with consistent training. Toffee's adoption includes his FULL initial vetting with ALL puppy vaccines and neuter covered when redeemed through NALA Rescue's network of veterinary care. He is also up to date on flea/tick medicine, and heartworm/intestinal parasite protection.

Any adopter would be lucky to love a mellow, playful, and loyal pup like Toffee.
