Auditioning for the BFF role in your life- our very own, Toby Maguire! This sweet and talented chi mix is approximately 1-2 years old, 10lbs and healthy as a superhero! He came to us as a surrender from a houseful of chihuahuas so he loves other dogs! In fact, we think a home with another dog co-star may be just the place for him. He is doing great on both pads and going in the great outdoors- no stage fright for our Toby! He takes a minute to warm up to humans but who doesn't get nervous before an audition! That does mean he will need some time to get to know you and the general public- especially when it comes to heading out on a leash. For all his star quality- he’s one of the shy guys at heart! Once he gets the role, get ready for the snuggle because it is REAL! This guy loves to snuggle so deep in the couch, his foster family calls him "couch gremlin"! He loves to be picked up and to sleep with his humans under ALL the blankets and he is doing great with the kids in his foster home. He will need some help with leash training but even the best actors need coaching on some skills! Toby needs to go to a home with another dog and a fenced-in yard. This includes their spay/neuter surgery, full (age appropriate) vaccinations, microchip insertion and registration, deworming, heartworm testing and prevention, flea and tick prevention and travel expenses.<br/><br/>All of our dogs are rescued from local shelters and the general public. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where he/she is kept for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. We have foster homes in the NJ/NY area waiting to receive their fosters. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested, we make arrangements for transport. If a dog is already in foster care in NYC/NJ, an adopter will be put in touch with the foster home AFTER an application is being processed.<br/><br/>Thank you in advance for your patience with our process and for making adoption YOUR option!
