Toby Feist Mix Merriam, KS

Staying active can keep you young, right? Hi, I'm "Bright Eyes" Toby, and I'm a 10-year-old Feist, which is a kind of hunting breed, and I came to the shelter after my person passed away. Life has changed a lot for me lately, but I'm ready to find a new family to love.

I may be a senior, but I'm not a typical one at all. I'm energetic, love my regular walks, and I'm fun and lovable. I still get so excited to meet new people - everyone is my friend! I love to play with any toy you offer me! Yup, toys are my jam & running around with them makes me so happy. I also know the commands, "sit", "shake" & even "speak" when a treat is involved. I am told I have the cutest, woof when I'm asked to "speak". AND I do that cute woof when I must go outside to do my business. That's another cool thing about me (if you want my opinion). PLUS, I am a darn good walker on a leash.

My joints aren't what they used to be, though. I have some arthritis, and while I take my supplements like a champ, there are days when I move a little slower. I'd really appreciate a home without too many stairs so I can get around more easily.

I'd love a calm, quiet place where older kids (8 and up) know that gentle pets are better than rough play. My friends at the shelter say that I am very gentle, but sometimes I get startled by touch when my arthritis is acting up. Oh, and one more thing-I need a home without cats or small pets, because my hunting instincts are still strong.

What I want most is a soft bed, some kind hands, and someone to share my golden years with. If you're looking for a loyal, loving companion, I'd be so happy to be yours. Please come and meet me.
