MEET TOBY

Looking for a super sweet, handsome fella that will love you beyond all measure? Then look no further than our precious Toby, a 2-year-old Mountain Cur / Hound / Shepherd mix. He has a gorgeous smooth brindle coat, that is broken up only by a little bit of white around his nose and on his chest. Toby is a medium-sized dog weighing about 42 pounds.
Toby was pulled from our local animal shelter where he had been picked up as a stray and no one came to claim him. Toby has a nice energy level and loves to run around the yard…sniffing (which seems to be his favorite thing to do!), exploring and playing…but there is a calmness and watchfulness about him that allows him to not be distracted by the chaos around him at the Dog House. He’s almost like an old soul in a young pup’s body! Toby has the sweetest, friendliest disposition and loves to be the recipient of any kind of attention, so while he can run and play with the best of them, he can also settle down nicely for some love and attention.
Toby will need a fenced yard if left outside unattended at all, but he is not to be an outside dog only as he likes to be with his people. He might do okay in an apartment setting provided he gets plenty of daily exercise. Toby has all the criteria for a wonderful family pet, and he should be great with children ages 8 and older. He did fine with the other dogs he has been tested with so far. We have started on his crate training. Toby is up to date on his vet care, is heartworm negative, is microchipped, and has been neutered. He is on heartworm and flea/tick prevention.
