Tito Italian Greyhound Mix Omaha, NE

Tito is the most lovable dog! He’s very affectionate and loves to cuddle. He is definitely a lapdog. In fact, his most favorite thing is the sit on his foster mom's lap, be petted, and give kisses. He was on his foster mom‘s lap within just a few minutes after coming into her home. He is a little shadow and loves to follow his her from room to room. He spends the majority of his day curled up and sleeping on her lap, or the couch. He enjoys the peace and quiet of his foster home. Tito snuggles close in bed at night and is a great sleeper. We are looking for a home where he is allowed to sleep in bed with his person. He loves to run around the yard in good weather, prancing around, tail wagging like a young dog even though we believe him to be a mature adult, but not quite a senior.

We were told he was 10 but our vet believes he is several years younger. He is completely potty trained as long as he’s let out every few hours. If left longer, he will use the puppy pads in the room set up for the dogs when foster is away. He has not been crated in his foster home except for travel in the car for safety. He had his teeth removed recently due to infection/disease, but eats anything put in front of him eagerly. He is also good on a leash. There really isn’t anything bad about this little guy. He gets along fine with his foster mom‘s three IG‘s, but doesn’t seek them out and is much more affectionate with his foster mom than the other dogs in the house. He does need to be fed separately and no free feeding as he is a little food protective and will eat everyone's food if given the chance. He does get a little jealous when his foster sister encroaches on his snuggle time and space and will give a low growl. He would be very happy and content as a solo dog in his home so he can get all the attention to himself.

He’s up-to-date on his vaccinations, heartworm negative and on HW preventative, had a dental with remaining teeth extracted and neutered.

He would be happiest and thrive in a home where he can be with his humans a lot during the day, snuggling, which he loves. He has been through A LOT of changes and homes recently as his former owner passed away and he found himself in a shelter and in other homes temporarily. It is clear to us that he was very well loved because he is so loving and trusting.

Our application process consists of a completed application, vet and two personal reference checks and home visit. We do require that your resident pets be spayed or neutered and have routine veterinary care and check-ups.

Our dogs are available for adoption in Nebraska, Iowa and South Dakota and MAY be considered for adoption to surrounding states (within a reasonable day drive). We DO NOT transport or ship dogs. You would be responsible for picking up from foster home. If you are in a state other than NE, IA or SD, you will need to work with your state's IGRF representative in order to get your application processed and approved before being considered.
