Meet Timber

Hi, my name is Timber! Here is what would work best for me in my new home:

-Personality: A little shy/unsure, intelligent, active, inquisitive
-Can Live with Kids: Because Timber can be so nervous in new situations and with new people, we are recommending kids 12+ at this time.
-Can Live with Cats: Yes, Timber reportedly did well with the cats in his previous home. He will need slow, supervised introductions to any new kitties to ensure everyone gets along.
-Can Live with Dogs: Timber's previous family said he did fine with the other dogs in their home, but in our dog/dog intros at the shelter, we have observed some pretty clear signals from him that he does not wish to interact with other dogs. It's possible he could tolerate living with another dog if it was just the right match-- it would have to be a very mellow, respectful, independent dog with good social skills who won't push or pester him. Any potential canine housemates will have to meet first at the shelter to ensure they get along. Timber is NOT going to be a dog park dog.
-Can do Apartment Living: Due to his breed and energy level/activity needs, Timber would not be well matched for apartment life. He would love a home with a large fenced yard to run around in!
-Potty Trained: Yes, appears to be!
-Bite History: No
-Positive Reward Based Obedience Classes Required: Depending on adopter experience, he may be required to sign up for one private lesson.
-Energy Level: High
-Needs Medical Procedure Before Going Home: **PENDING FINAL VET CHECK** **NEEDS MICROCHIP**
-Additional Information: Timber is a sweet guy who can be a bit aloof with new people. He is easily won over with high value treats (he especially loves hotdogs!) and is a total snugglebug once he knows you. Timber is a bit anxious and is said to have destructive separation anxiety. He would do well in a home where his people are around more often that not. Timber is an active, intelligent pup who will need lots of exercise and mental stimulation to be happy and stay out of trouble. He's been passed around a lot in his young life, and is understandably a little confused about who his people are. One of his previous owners stated he has a fear of men, but we're not exactly sure what that looks like in terms of his behavior. Any introductions to unfamiliar people, especially men, should be taken very slow. Once Timber is settled and comfortable with his new people, we know he'll be an awesome adventure buddy for the right person!
