Tim Raines Pit Bull Terrier Mix Palatine, IL

Just like the baseball player he’s named after, Tim Raines is an all-star. He has more than his share of medical surprises but is happy-go-lucky all the same. Despite having a leg amputated, Tim loves being outside and playing with other dogs. This 7-month-old Pittie mix is doing well with house training and will go to the back door to signal you. He loves his crate and does well left alone.

Sure to be in the SCCR Hall of Fame one day, Tim has a congenital heart defect called subaortic stenosis that will likely result in a shorter lifespan. But that isn’t going to stop him from hitting it out of the park during his playing years. He’s a social butterfly who loves attention, is certain he fits on your lap, and is generous with his kisses. Tim loves chew toys, bully sticks, and Kongs with peanut butter.

Tim considers everyone — other dogs, children — part of his team and welcomes them with enthusiasm. He’s looking for a family that understands that sometimes the brightest stars shine for a shorter time. This boy deserves to be a first round draft pick.
