Meet Thurston

Meet Thurston! This happy sweet boy joined CBBR a few weeks ago. He has been recovering from a horrible pneumonia in a ISOLATION foster home. He’s doing well and will be medically cleared to start socializing with other dogs very soon. Read what his foster mom has to say about him.
Thurston was found playing with a bunch of kids because he really is a total class clown.  He has oodles of energy and I think would do really well with a furry playmate to keep him company. He doesn’t mind being poked and messed with AT ALL. Any attention for Thurston is good attention. He is housebroken and does well in a crate. He is not much of a barker and loves everyone. I am not sure how he would be with a cat, he may be a bit too rough but we can definitely get him cat tested. He just noticed my corn snake the other day and spent a solid 45 minutes licking her cage and trying to figure out what the heck she is and why he couldn’t play with her. He walks well on a leash and is convinced that everything and everyone is, or will become, his best friend. He is endlessly entertaining and when he is off the leash instead of running he sort of bounds from point A to point B. He is very food motivated and knows sit, lay down, and come (we are working on stay but patience is not one of his strengths). He has lots of energy, but has done well with the limited excercise that he gets here. He is good in the bath and likes to stand under the shower and bite at the water. If you can get him to settle down he’s a great snuggler too.

He’s been super fun to hang out with and I can promise that the incredibly lucky person gets to adopt him will have a lifetime of laughs with this goon.

Our friend Christine from Rescue in Style wrote a blog about how Thurston ended up a Cbbr dog. https://rescueinstyle.com/what-thurston-taught-me/

Below are the note from the shelter.
#repost Original Notes:
He’s got spirit yes he does! Thurston could have easily joined the cheer squad at the school he was found at. He invited himself into yard to play with the children. A nice teacher brought him to the shelter where he continued to be very sweet during his intake. He was noted to smell great and have freshly clipped nails like he’d just been to a groomer. Thurston was so excited to get outside and make new friends. He was happy just bucking around like a bronco, no toys needed. He loves attention and doesn’t understand his size. He wants to be in laps and give thank you kisses and slobber everywhere. Thurston knows sit and takes treats well. With exercise and time he settled a bit to lean in for pets. Going back to his kennel was very though; it’s clear he has been loved greatly thus far in life.
