THELMA Chow Chow & Shiba Inu Mix riverside, CA

TWENTY NINE PALMS, CA (IN SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY/S CAL)- “THELMA” a chow/shiba inu looking mix now at Palms N Paws Animal Shelter, the municipal shelters serving Twentynine Palms and the local marine base.

URGENT – PRETTY AND SWEET, DOES WELL WITH OTHER DOGS- NEEDS LOVING, RESPONSIBLE HOME, OR FOSTER AND RESCUE ASAP, SHELTER IS REMOTE AND ASKING FOR HELP

Please help us find a loving forever home, or foster and rescue, for this dear girl who was found roaming at a local marine base. She was microchipped, but when her owner was contacted, the owner said she was no longer in the area and had rehomed her to another family.

That family would not return calls. However, they learned Thelma lived with a 10 year old female pitbull who she was found abandoned with, but unfortunately, Thelma’s companion became sick in the shelter and was humanely euthanized. So now Thelma is without her friend, and needs a home or rescue asap so she does not live out her final days in a lonely kennel.

The shelter describes Thelma as “a chow chow mix with a heart full of love. Her nature is as sweet as honey and she's as loyal as they come.
Thelma is an adult dog who is already spayed, making her ready to become a new family member without delay. She's a social butterfly with new dogs, always ready to make a friend. She's the kind of dog who will greet you with a wagging tail and lots of affection. “
The shelter volunteer who reached out to us also told us, “Thelma knows her name, appeared to be potty trained from the reports of the finder who held on to her for a few days while trying to contact her owners. She has been sweet with volunteers and staff, but will be hard to place in the community because her breed is restricted on the marine base. She has the very stereotypical blue tongue of a chow chow, but is right between the size of a shiba and a chow (~50lbs).”
The chip owner reported her to be a chow shiba inu and 5 years old.
