We are in Rochester, NY, we adopt to people who live in the Rochester area. We do not ship our dogs and require home visits. Must live in area to adopt, will not respond to out of area/country requests.
Required a physically fenced in yard for her to safely run and play in. Also a companion dog in home.

Meet Thelma, a 2 yr old American Eskimo who is approx. 20 lbs. She joined us from a puppy mill when they decided not to breed her anymore. She arrived shaved to the skin and with a tail you can tell was broken and never healed right. The tail adds to her personality and her fur is finally starting to grow back. After she had been with the rescue a while it was determined she was pregnant so she had her final litter of puppies, was a wonderful momma to them and is now ready for a home of her own.
Thelma does well with other dogs and cats. Fearful of new people when meeting them, she does not show aggression but will bark. She uses a dog door to let herself in and out to potty. Loves toys that squeak and playing. She will walk on leash once she trusts you. Warms up faster to women than men but is fine with men. She loves attention and is a shadow to her foster and will be with her new owner given a little time. She will require another dog in home as she would not adjust to life without another dog to help her trust. Thelma would do best where someone was home more too. She would probably be fine with older children but young, fast moving kids would most likely scare her. All our dogs have been spayed/neutered; treated for worms; heartworm tested (if age appropriate -7 mths or older); treated for fleas/ticks; microchip; and examined by veterinarian and given age appropriate vaccinations. We take every effort to ensure the health of the animal and you will receive a copy of all vet work performed.
