What is A.D.O.P.T. Pet Shelter’s adoption process?

If you have questions about our dogs and cats or adoption process, the quickest way to get more information is to visit us online at and look under the Adoptions menu or email our adoption counselors at If you are interested in a dog or cat at our shelter, please read about the adoption process below to get started! -You will only be invited in for a meet and greet with an animal that you are interested in if you have an approved application. Applications can be found on our website at: An adoption counselor will contact you if your application is approved and speak with you further about the animal you are interested in. At that time, they will then schedule an appointment for you to come in to meet with the animal. -All members of the family must be present at the meet and greet in order to adopt. We want to make sure it’s a good fit for everyone! -If you are planning on adopting a dog and already have an existing dog, we will ask to bring your dog in to introduce them. Once you’ve been approved by an adoption counselor, they will contact you to discuss further and schedule a time for you and your dog(s) to meet with the new dog.
