Tex Chihuahua & Dachshund Mix Rochester, NY

We are in Rochester, NY, we adopt to people who live in the Rochester area. We do not ship our dogs and require home visits. Must live in area to adopt, will not respond to out of area/country requests. Additionally, if fencing is required it must be a physical fence and in place at time of home visit.

Tex was born 6/3/19, is (we are told) a chihuahua Dachshund mix who weighs in at 15 lbs. When he first came to us he was very timid and fearful of his siblings and loud noises and would hide behind the chairs in the living room. He will need an adjustment period to just let him do his own thing and learn his new home on his own. He’s very playful loves being outside to chase the wildlife and romp around with his foster siblings. He’s great at snuggling and will be your shadow 24/7. He was a stray before being rescued so he will need additional training but he understands some basic commands like sit, no, stay, come. He is almost potty trained and uses puppy pads when inside. He walks pretty good on a leash with a harness. Cats are an unknown and better to not have small children as he can nibble fingers when playing. All our dogs have been spayed/neutered; treated for worms; heartworm tested (if age appropriate -7 mths or older); treated for fleas/ticks; microchip; and examined by veterinarian and given age appropriate vaccinations. We take every effort to ensure the health of the animal and you will receive a copy of all vet work performed.
