Quick Facts:
- Very friendly with people! She has also met children of a variety of ages on walks, but hasn't lived with a child that we know of.
- Could be ok with other pets; has met a few dogs in short term foster and on walks on leash. We don't how she would do living with another pet full time, but so far she has been gentle with new dogs she has met on walks.
- Housebroken, crate trained, laid back, doesn't destroy human items
- Terri is a great low-key canine companion.

Terri is a 6-7 year old Pitbull Terrier mix. She is super sweet and loving and has never met a stranger and loves everyone she meets. Her full body wags express so much joy when she is petted and paid attention to. She seems to pick a favorite person in her foster home, but she loves all people. She seems to like other dogs and pull to meet them on walks, but does not bark at them and is easy enough to walk in the other direction if meeting the dog isn't possible. She enjoys a few short walks currently in her foster home. She may enjoy more walks as her leg heals further, but we don't want to push her too far. She also loves her many naps each day. Terri is a little nervous in the car, but would likely learn that car rides lead to fun adventures and new friends.

Terri knows sit, no, "hup" (i.e. jump up on the couch), walking nicely on leash, and does not jump on people. Terri will perform skills or learn new things for food rewards - she currently sits immediately when she sees a treat. Terri would likely do well in a variety of homes including - a busy home with children, a quiet home with an older person, and everywhere in between. We believe she would be ok living with other animals, but a meet and greet would be required with your other pets.

Terri is a fabulous mature dog - no need to worry about her soiling in the house or chewing up your favorite slippers. She can entertain herself independently and is not a velcro-dog/does not follow her people around the house incessantly. She doesn't bark much and is very quiet in her foster home which is a condo-environment. Terri has not guarded any toys or food. She has used a crate in her foster home when left alone, however she likely can be left alone uncrated. Terri does not mind being alone. We don't think Terri would jump a 4 or 6 foot fence - a fence is NOT required for adoption. She has not been off leash though and does not reliably come when you call her, so she should use a long line or leash outdoors in unfenced areas.

Terri has some itchiness that we are still working to figure out. She may have food or environmental sensitivities/allergies. She showed improvement on a fish-based food. Terri had intense ear infections when she arrived to rescue and we have been working on clearing the infections and getting her ears back to a healthy, clean state. She has been very tolerant of handling for this as well as baths and spot cleaning with a wipe. Terri also had a major laceration to her ankle when she arrived. The wound was evaluated by a veterinarian and determined to be healing on its own with time and keeping the site clean. The wound has now closed completely on the exterior and will continue to heal on the interior. Terri limps on this leg as the wound was quite damaging, but this should reduce as she gets her strength back. Terri may have some arthritis and seems stiff in the mornings, but she gets around and climbs onto the couch without issue. We are happy to discuss Terri's medical concerns with interested applicants.

Terri is spayed, UTD on vaccinations, housebroken, and crate trained.
