Tenny is a sweet boy who is going to melt your heart with those big dark eyes! Tenny would be most comfortable in a quiet home with no children.
Once Tenny learns to trust you he won’t leave your side. He is very careful ensuring his foster mom is always in eye sight . He is learning that his foster dad also knows how to play and give belly rubs. He does this little belly slide/crawl thing looking for some love, if you ignore him he slowly snakes his way up to your face nuzzling into your neck while turning over suggesting some belly rubs are required. How on earth can you say no to that!!!
Tenny is fearful of strangers which means it takes him a while to feel comfortable with new people in his space. To help him with the transition, his foster mom puts him in his crate while greeting people into the house and opening the crate door after a few minutes. He still feels the need to be very loud letting us know we have invaded his personal space. Tenny needs his humans to be patient as he adjusts to new people. After about 20 mins, his bark isn’t so loud, and he cautiously tries to check out the new person as he has realized they have treats.
Tenny LOVES his crate. This is his safe spot and tends to go there when he is unsure. He very happily goes in at bed time and you don’t hear a peep out of him, even when the door is opened in the morning, he slowly stretches his way out. Then quickly realizes what time it is then races down the stairs to beat his foster brother to breakfast.
As a young pup, he is still learning to be gentle and when to stop. Tenny would get along well with another dog with a calm nature.
Toys are starting to be fun! He is always running around with some sort of toy hanging out of his mouth. Tenny is learning fetch where he is now starting to bring toys to us.
House training is coming along and Tenny is starting to understand he needs to go to the back door when he needs to do his business. His foster brother is bell trained and Tenny is learning the sound of the bell means the door is going to open. Tenny is such an eager learner he will be ringing the bell himself in no time!
Walks are super exciting for Tenny. He wants to smell everything and anything, but is learning not to pull so much on the leash.
Tenny loves to cuddle and stay close to his foster mom and does well with other dogs as long as they don't get in his face. There are two other dogs in the foster home and Tenny gets along fine with them both. The puppy just needs to be reminded to give Tenny some personal space, but Tenny has already showed signs of wanting to play with the younger pup in the home.
