There's nothing quite like puppy energy and silliness...and then they lie quietly on your shoulder breathing their warm baby breath. They're so pure and vulnerable that it's unbearable to think of them in a high-kill shelter!

Teagan, at just 5 weeks old and 4 lbs (estimated to be full grown at about 30 - 35 lbs), was facing the end of her life before it ever began. Farfel's Texas rescuers are compassionate and loving and couldn't turn their back on this puppy with the great temperament and the most gorgeous eyes filled with so much wisdom..they rescued Teagan from euthanasia due to lack of space just in time.

Teagan's story is one that tugs at our heart strings...Teagan's mom, Tibby, died from sepsis hours after giving birth to 2 healthy puppies that needed their mom for survival. Compassionate rescuers stepped up to provide the nutrition that these babies needed to thrive..and thrive they have! The puppies miraculously have lived as bottle babies and have grown fat, happy and full of life. The wonderful fosters (we can't say enough about their dedication) and all of the Rescued Pets Movement staff have fallen head over heels for these puppies as they've watched them flourish! They've put their trust into Farfel's to provide these two with the best homes filled with kindness, nurturing and nothing but pure love.

Teagan is starting out with the sweetest energy...the excellent results of her temperament-testing ended with a transport ticket to Colorado and a new life. She is also incredibly beautiful...with a gorgeous tri-colored coat with the most beautiful markings ever.

Since Teagan is just a baby, she's a blank slate just waiting for a kind and patient human to show her the way. She has all the potential in the world to be an awesome adult companion - Teagan will form firm bonds with her family (as well as other dogs and humans) and learn positive socialization skills through Puppy Kindergarten followed by positive reinforcement group Obedience Classes. It does take time and commitment...yet pays off a thousand times over when you have a dog that is extremely bonded and can accompany you out in the world with excellent behavior. Farfel's feels very strongly about this early training and will therefore not consider adopting to a family that chooses not to participate. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of approved positive reinforcement/force free trainers in your area.

We're open to Teagan finding her forever home with a retired couple or individual with lots of energy to train and enjoy a silly and super-smart puppy. A younger family that works from a home-based office would also be a great choice for Teagan. She's too sensitive a pup to be left alone for the long hours of full-time employment outside of the home. Teagan enjoys children as well...we would prefer to place her in a home with older kids that can participate in play and fun with gentle kindness. Kids can also be a part of a training regimen that's so important in the formation of a puppy's future behavior.

Teagan has the most stunning coat that is currently a bit shelter sad. She will require a lifelong commitment to periodic sudsy baths/brushing/grooming and excellent nutrition (5 star food and a daily salmon oil supplement are an excellent daily protocol for coat care as well as longevity). With this regimen, Teagan's hair will be shining, cottony-soft and very healthy.

Teagan will be up to date on her vetting/vaccinations to be in line with our commitment to only adopting out healthy puppies. Teagan is too young to be spayed prior to her transport to Colorado, however when a bit older, Farfel's is happy to cover all costs for her spay and microchip if one of our rescue vets is used.
