Taz is a sweet, well trained dog but unfortunately not getting along with one of our other dogs. In the shelter he showed no signs of aggression toward other dogs or people. When we got him home he acclimated quickly and integrated with our other two dogs just fine. One of our current dogs named Outlaw (11 Years old) tends to have issues with meeting new dogs but once he is used to them he is fine. Both Outlaw and Taz are mostly fine together but there have been a couple big fights over triggers (i.e. our neighbors dogs barking or other dogs being walked by our backyard fence,, food, etc..)
We walk Taz with our other very passive dog named Kaleah (Shes a 50 lbs Pointer mix of some sort) and there are no issues with her.
We hired a dog trainer and after two meetings to assess the situation they recommended we re-home Taz. At this time they also recommend that Taz be crated while in the house to avoid any issues with him and Outlaw. I have been working with Taz during our walks but his extremely intent at focusing on what his "triggers" are. we have had visitors to the house and he is friendly to them but He is very excitable.
So this is our dilemma, we do NOT want to send him back to the shelter center because as much as they are doing a really good thing for dogs they are still not No Kill and we feel he will be Euthanized. He is really just too sweet to not try and help but he needs attention and care that we can not give him. As well we feel restricted because of our other dog that he does not get along with.
