Meet Tater(Paws in Prison)

Tater ,Lab /Black Mouth Cur Mix, 65 lbs. male, fully vetted, microchipped, heart worm negative and on prevention. Adoption fee $250
Tater is a good old, no pretense, no airs, comfortable being him kinda guy. He looks mostly Lab, mixed with Black Mouth Cur and who knows what else? He’s sweet and very food-motivated. He doesn’t guard his food or toys with people. He is fine with older children,- around 10
And up, but would not recommend him with small children or small dogs, he doesn't know his size and strength. He does alert bark, and is very protective of his human(s) , for this reason he would make a great guard dog for city or country dwellers. He does require a fenced yard. Tater is a ham. He’s a big, lovable, long-tailed ham. He mugs for the camera. And he does it very well. Every picture looks like we spent a half hour posing him. We didn’t. Tater does the posing all on his own. He’s something else, that statement is meant in the very best way. He’s brimming with personality and it lights up the whole room. This is a very happy, upbeat young man. Spend some time with him, and you’ll want to spend all your time with him. That’s not an exaggeration...this guy is magnetic.

Tater is enrolled in the Paws in Prison program. The dogs in this program are trained under the AKC Canine Good Citizen standards and are specifically selected to be family and companion dogs. They spend 24 hours a day with their trainers. For that reason, they will do best in homes where they are primarily inside dogs and spend lots of time with their families. The adoptive family will receive their training journal. This journal documents everything from entering the facility, daily training progress, and interactions with trainers.
