Meet Tasha

Tasha was found tied to a pole and abandoned by her owner. At least they left her in a location where she was discovered quickly, and our animal control officer brought her to the shelter where she is being cared for until we can find her forever home. If you were to get Tasha out of her kennel, you will find out what a wonderful girl she is and wonder how anyone could have deserted her like this.

We are calling Tasha a Labrador/Basset mix weighing 51 lbs. and we are estimating her age to be around 9 years. So, yes, she is a senior, but with any kind of luck, she has several years left and she deserves to live every one of them in a loving home.

There are so many good reasons to adopt an older dog. Many of them are listed on Tasha kennel door. Please check them out. I believe adopting an older dog is tremendously rewarding and I also believe the dog has a sense that they are being given another chance to enjoy their remaining years.

I walked Tasha on just a slip lead, and she did well. Not much pulling or tugging and most people will not have much trouble walking her. You would also receive a leash and harness at the time of adoption. Tasha was quick to potty for me as soon as I got her out of the shelter. I think you can assume she has had house training, but you would still need to show some patience while she adjusts to a new home. I would describe her energy level as medium. She is friendly, affectionate, and eager to please. Please check out Tasha’s video on Petfinder to get a good look at her and see what she is like off leash.

If you already have a dog(s) in your home, there would be a meet & greet at the shelter.

I hope you will consider getting Tasha out of her kennel to find out for yourself what a sweet girl she is. And then I hope you will decide to give her a warm, loving home and in return you will be getting a wonderful companion that will be forever grateful to you for giving her this chance.
