Tanner's Story

Hi! My name is Tanner! I am an approximately 2 year old shepherd mix. I have the absolute softest coat you can possibly imagine. (Seriously, you’ve never felt anything like it. You have to feel it to believe it.) And yet I hardly shed at all.

I am mellow and I sleep most of the day, but if you want to play catch with me, I will jump into action. I understand “Fetch” and “Drop it,” and can catch a ball right out of the air. With some practice, I would be an exceptional frisbee dog. I know my basic commands & fetch!

I am fully housebroken and know how to ask to go out and I have a very regular potty schedule.

I love being with people, but am also comfortable being alone. I am mature and don’t get into mischief or chew or cry or anything. I really am a dream.

I spent at least a couple of weeks on my own in the outdoors before I was rescued. I had to learn to defend myself against coyotes and such, so I’m still pretty careful to protect myself around large dogs. I did see a trainer though and he thinks with some patience and hard work, I can get better, but I would prefer to live in a home without other dogs for now. I also need a home with no cats.

Oh, and I know how to take treats gently out of your hand and I love them so I will be a good learner!

My perfect home will be dog savvy & active, such as kayaking or hiking. I need patience and a huge heart with time to invest in me. I like the ladies but I really prefer men.

I am 44 pounds of sweetness & I’m waiting to meet you. There is a small rehoming fee for me but I’m worth it!

I already have my appointment set up to be spayed.

NOTE: Tanner is not a Fur Love Haven dog. She is hanging out with our friends at WagginTails Search & Rescue. If you have a home and lots of love for this girl please reach out to 971-226-4974.
