Meet Tank

Meet Tank! Tank is currently fostered in Durham, NC.

Tank is available for adoption within the state of North Carolina - and outside of the state of North Caroline. Transportation to his perfect forever home can be coordinated by our rescue. For additional information on our adoption and transportation process, please email us at

This handsome fella is a 1 year old Lab/Border Collie mix who was rescued as a young puppy (alongside his brother) by a family in Texas. As Tank and his brother aged into full-grown pups, their family realized that they no longer had the time and resources to care for Tank and his brother.

Tank is neutered, heartworm negative, microchipped, and up to date on his vaccines and preventatives.

Tank is a sweet, social, and playful pup. He loves to romp around in the backyard - but he can equally chill out and relax on the couch for a movie marathon or binge watch of Grey's Anatomy. He has done well on the leash, but would benefit from an adoptive family or individual who can continue to work on leash manners when around other dogs. Tank has benefited from having a large fenced-in backyard to play in, so continued socialization and exercise outside of his comfort zone will be beneficial!

Tank is described by his previous family and all who know him as a 'gentle giant.' He is confident yet calm - and enjoys meeting new people. He is incredibly intelligent and knows his basic commands. An adoptive family willing to continue his training inside and outside of the home is always a benefit! Being only a year old, Tank has room to learn! He is eager to please and is responsive to new commands and training.

Tank is great with children and has previously lived with young children, but we will require a home with children over the age of 10 years old.
