TAKONIE Alaskan Malamute & Shepherd Mix Boise, ID

Hi, I’m Takonie. I was roaming the streets in Utah and was picked up as a stray before the nice people at Moonsong rescued me. I’m quite a handsome boy, if I do say so myself, with my ice blue eyes. I’m a very loving boy that loves to play with toys. I can entertain myself tossing and bouncing on toys. I like tennis balls, stuffed toys, any toy, I love them and am gentle and don’t chew them up. One of my favorite things to do is spot squirrels and chase them up a tree! I love being petted and snuggle with people as long as they give me a chance to get to know them first. I don’t like to be approached quickly or like people to get into my face, I like a little respect! Once I get to know you, you’re welcomed to rub my belly or scratch my booty! I am working on my loose leash walking skills. I get really excited when I see other dogs, lunging and barking - I have some nice humans helping me learn appropriate behavior with other dogs.

Takonie has been playful with a few friendly dogs he's met (see his video).  He can be reactive to dogs and needs slow introductions. No cats, small dogs or pets as he has a high prey drive.
