Tad is a 4 month old ONE pound toy poodle with Cerebellar Hypoplaysia. That means his cerebellum did not fully develop and he will always be slightly wobbly and uncoordinated. He is in no pain and can live a full and happy life. Adult weight may be 3-4 lbs.
Due to his toy breed and size we will be VERY particular about his forever home.
Tad does not eat regular food. TRUST me I've tried EVERY single food out there! We have to attempt to offer him balanced food multiple times throughout the day. He is VERY picky and has as of now only eaten human food. We are syringe feeding him formula to ensure he gets his calories.
For this reason anyone with TOY breed experience will be a plus!
He needs:
Someone home during the day. He needs to be fed multiple times and loves his people.
Tad most likely will never do stairs. He is too small.
He will not be good in an apartment and he doesn’t love being alone and will let your neighbors know.
No children under 13
Preferably another small and friendly doggie companion.
Tad is also a toy poodle which means he can live to be 18 years old. So you will be able to love him for what could hopefully be a very long time.
Tad is a total lovebug. He loves to be with his people and he loves playing with other dogs. He is working on potty training but is definitely a work in progress. Tad loves cuddling and also is independent and loves to play with his toys. He will do better walking on soft surfaces such as carpet or rugs.

We are in Rochester, NY, we adopt to people who live in the Rochester area. We do not ship our dogs and require home visits. Must live in area to adopt, will not respond to out of area/country requests. Additionally we require physically fenced yard for dog/pup to play in safely. Exceptions are sometimes made to this requirement but is up to the foster and more often done for the small breed dogs.

All our dogs have been treated with dewormer; heartworm tested (if age appropriate -7 mths or older); treated for fleas/ticks; microchipped; and examined by veterinarian plus given age appropriate vaccinations. We take every effort to ensure the health of the animal and you will receive a copy of all vet work performed at time of adoption. Dogs will be spayed/neutered thru us prior to finalizing any adoption.

We provide information on dogs age and breed based on what we are told by person surrendering dog or vet's best guess. While we try our best we cannot guarantee that this information is 100% accurate and can often be best guess in case of our lovable mutts.
