Meet Sylvie

Sylvie is ready to share her story!

I expected more from life. I never thought that I would have to fend for myself. That I would watch and feel my fur get more matted every day. That I would end up in the shelter with no one coming for me. That I would end up with a small growth on my eye that kept irritating me. I am estimated to be around 6 years old, and you can tell from my eyes that I had never known the warmth of a dog bed prior to coming to the rescue. I had never known the feeling of security and tranquility that comes with having a family. I didn't know what it feels like to be cherished. To get to come on the couch for cuddles, to be loved on, and most of all to be included in activities.

That is all part of my story though. And while I can close the chapter on that part of my life, I cannot erase it. I am looking for a family that will pick up where my fosters left off. One that will keep loving me and keep showing me how amazing it feels to....well be loved. One that will keep showing me just how great a family can really be! You can just see how grateful I am to be inside. How I smile to the moon and back when I get to be on the couch.

My name is Sylvie and I am a 6-year-old, 86lb female Great Pyrenees.
____________________________________________________________________

Ever since I ended up homeless I have been dreaming of a forever family. One that will love me for the rest of my life! I know it is a big decision so I had my foster family fill out this questionnaire to make sure you are 100% sure about me!

-How does your foster act when meeting new people?
She's calm. Just wags her tail slowly as she anticipates pets.

-Has your foster been to any public settings?
She has done great at the vet and Starbucks. Really doesn't care, just is happy to be with you.

-Does your foster like going on walks? She enjoys walks!

-Would your foster enjoy going for walks?
Probably not. She has an old injury that makes her a little slower.

-Is your foster leash trained?
She is comfortable on a leash.

-How does your foster do on car rides? Absolutely great in the car. Just hangs out and looks out the window.

-Does your foster jump on people?
No.

-Describe your fosters energy level? Calm and laid back.

-Is your foster a big chewer?
Not at all.

-Does your foster like to play fetch?
No.

-Does your foster like to play in the water?
Doesn't seem too interested.

-Does your foster play with Toys?
Also not interested as of yet.

-Does your foster have any food aggression?
She doesn't like when other pups try to eat her food.

-Does your foster resource guard?
No.

-Do you think your foster would be okay with free-roam of the house even if you are away?
Definitely.

-Is your foster potty trained?
Yes. Great bladder control!

-Is your foster kennel trained?
She is!

-Where does your foster sleep at night?
In our room with us.

-Where does your foster stay when no one is home?
In the living room.

-Is your foster good with other dogs?
Yes.

-How does your foster act around other dogs?
She is pretty indifferent. Sometimes she tries to play with her foster siblings by doing this little hop jump thing as she smiles.

-Does your foster need another dog in their new home?
No.

-Is your foster good with cats?
Yes. She is indifferent.

-Is your foster good with kids?
Yes!

-Would your foster dog do good in an apartment?
Yes. She hasn't barked once in our home.

-Is your foster a big barker?
Not at all.

-What would be your fosters ideal home?

Sylvie would be great with anyone who works from home or is pretty laid back when they get home from work, no matter how small or big the family is. The couch or the back patio is her favorite place to be, and she just wants to be next to you in those places.

-Is there anything else you would like to mention about your foster dog?

Sylvie is a special light. She brings this sense of calm when she is around like everything will be okay no matter what. If you're looking for a solid old soul to help you decompress from the world, look no further. Sylvie will be your best friend to cuddle and watch movies with any day of the week.

Phew! That took longer than I thought! Hopefully, all your questions about me were answered though! Before you apply to adopt me I have a few last things that I would like to discuss!

-How can someone adopt me?
The first step is to fill out an adoption app for me at https://www.pyrpawsandfluffytailsrescue.com/adoption-app

Once this app comes in, it will get sent on to my foster family and they will help me decide if we are a match or not.

-Where are you being fostered?
I am being fostered in Bixby, OK.

-Would I need to pick you up?
Yes, you would need to pick me up. This rescue does not send us on transports. It is less stress on us that way. Plus, you and I can already start bonding on the road trip home!

-Can I adopt you even if I don't live in Oklahoma?
Yes, I am okay moving to a new state.

-How much is your adoption fee?

My adoption fee is $225.

That includes my DHLPP, Rabies, and Bordatella shots. I will be micro-chipped, heart-worm tested, have a fecal done, be de-wormed, be spayed/neutered, and will be current on heart-worm and flea/tick prevention. It also includes my dental and the removal of the growth on my eye.
