Meet Sybil

Don’t let Sybil’s coloring fool you. The white around her eyes is not grey but a lovely white/tan brindle which has matching spots on both hips. She is about 4 years old and 20 pounds. She is very smart, super curious girl who is all beagle, meaning her nose rules her body and she is extremely food motivated. She is quiet for a young beagle girl and only bays when there is a good reason. Sybil is high energy outside and a complete couch potato inside. She is working on her house training and does best when she has free access to the outside, such as a doggie door, because she is still figuring out how to let you know she needs out. She gets stressed when locked in a crate but has not gotten into any trouble being left uncrated overnight. She is currently fostered with four other dogs, four cats and two teens. She gets along well with the other dogs and will nap with the cats, but plays mostly with her two beagle foster siblings. She doesn't necessarily need another dog but would probably do best with another beagle. Sybil has yet to meet a stranger and has been very friendly with everyone she has meet including several visiting teens. She has not been around small children, but we would not expect there to be any issues. Sybil is not a needy girl. That is, she wants to be close by but does not feel the need to be in your lap or glued to your side. She is perfectly content to snooze somewhere nearby. Sybil is all around a wonderful girl. The only thing that may be an issue for some families is that in true beagle fashion, she is a digger. She needs wireless or inground electronic fence to stay contained. She must have access to the outside for 2.5-3 hours a day, so apartments or townhomes are not a good fit for her.

*We have a 5 foot chain link fence that has was secured at the bottom when we were moved in nine years ago. We had to go back around the perimeter and fix some places that had eroded because Sybil found them and started tunneling. We do have woods behind us and on the one side of the yard, so the critters in the woods may have been motivation for the escape attempts.
