There is a reason behind her name! Sweets is just sooooo sweet. Where to begin with her story?? Sweets was drop net trapped in an open field in Glendale, AZ. by our friends from HARTT. Volunteers tried to humanly trap her for weeks and as a last resort, a large net was dropped from above and she stumbled, got a bit tangled and she was brought to safety. It has been months since Sweets has been in our care and her journey is far from over. Sweets is a work in progress, meaning her forever home will need to understand that it will take time (many months), for her to settle into a new routine and drop her guard. Sweets is currently making steady progress with her foster family. Her foster mom has set Sweets up so that her days are routine and the environment is calm. We celebrated the first time Sweets wagged her tail, or came up for pets, or rolled in the grass, or romped and played with the other dogs. There is happiness within her. However, Sweets is still timid and unsure at times, but she is gaining confidence daily. Sweets will need to go to home that has a woman as the main caregiver as she is fearful of men. She will do well in a home that has another dog that she can bond with as she has found comfort with her foster fur-family. She is fine with cats, and will become secure enough to walk around a house and be part of the family....over time. Patience, kindness, and a calm routine is needed for Sweets to continue to blossom. She is an absolute beautiful being and will make the most heartfelt, grateful companion. Patience, kindness and time will greatly benefit this Sweet gal.
